[Oct. 5th, 2005|04:09 pm] |
after 2 and a half weeks. i have reached my pinnacle thus far of being a chicagoan.
this afternoon, i rode the chicago ave. bus in the city of chicago, while listening to the song, "chicago" by sufjan stevens. i love this city.

so, my heart, and apparently now, my brain have been left in chicago. being back in virginia is this lonely, miserable existence as cloudy and hazy as the restaurant last night when the power went off. i have friends here and i enjoy being with them and being around them, they're great people. but i feel as if i have no direction, and no map to help me find my way. I'm sort of wandering aimlessly around the town where i grew up. my direction, my guide, my best friend, and my other half is in the midwest. i know when i'll have myself back, but will i be able to last until then? i love you gordie, and i'm sorry for my forgetfulness. i hope you can forgive me. |

jess has been accepted to a PhD program at the University of Illinois at Chicago. which is one of the top 25 schools for philosophy. i'm very proud of her. and i'm coming along for the ride. we're heading to chicago after the summer. i'll have finished my recording school by then, and i'm ready to go and find myself a job as a recording engineer in chicago, where, apparently, there's a big market for that sort of thing. i'm really really really excited about it all. |

I Am A: Lawful Good Half-Elf Ranger Bard
Alignment: Lawful Good characters are the epitome of all that is just and good. They believe in order and governments that work for the benefit of all, and generally do not mind doing direct work to further their beliefs.
Race: Half-Elves are a cross between a human and an elf. They are smaller, like their elven ancestors, but have a much shorter lifespan. They are sometimes looked down upon as half-breeds, but this is rare. They have both the curious drive of humans and the patience of elves.
Primary Class: Rangers are the defenders of nature and the elements. They are in tune with the Earth, and work to keep it safe and healthy.
Secondary Class: Bards are the entertainers. They sing, dance, and play instruments to make other people happy, and, frequently, make money. They also tend to dabble in magic a bit.
Deity: Mielikki is the Neutral Good goddess of the forest and autumn. She is also known as the Lady of the Forest, and is the Patron of Rangers. Her followers are devoted to nature, and believe in the positive and outreaching elements of it. They use light armor, and a variety of weapons suitable for hunting, which they are quite skilled at. Mielikki's symbol is a unicorn head.

| | The Suicide File- W | ] | of course lots of us are pissed. but i just don't understand why people have voted for that fucking idiot son of an asshole again. i mean, we've done bad things in the past. we voted for Nixon twice. Reagan too. so why is there a need to vote for this hateful, awful human being. i propose those of us that survive the impending holocaust brought upon by this guy, should flee somewhere. i'm thinking New Zealand. Peter Jackson's got a lot of good things going for that country.
1)what really gets me about this whole ordeal, is that this country is so fucking scared. scared enough to stick with this schmuck for another four years of hellaciousness again. i must say that i'm really scared now. this country will undoubtedly go to shit.
2)we're passing amendments to our state constitutions that delegate the rights of minorities. which i believe will give bushie a want to pass a constitutional amendment concerning the ban of gay marriage. why do we feel the need to repress the rights of sexual minorities? the last time we passed an amendment banning something, it was the eighteenth, and how well did that one work out?
3)this jerk-off is gonna appoint more justices to the supreme court. as conservative if not more conservative as rehnquist. (please hang on, for the sake of your country. you need to hang on for four years.)
well, i mean, the list could go on. the economy will further go into the shitter. some of us could get drafted into a war we don't believe in, and die. gas prices will go up up and up. and i will guarantee you that both the "war on terror" and the "war on iraq" will go on for another four years. why? because there will be no end to this man's greed, and now he has created more terrorists in the middle east than he has captured. like i said. the list goes on.
oh. and lastly. laura bush. do we really need to see her again for another four years? please. |

| | The Casket Lottery- Ancient Injury | ] | To Whom it May Concern:
I haven't been updating this journal much. And I haven't been talking too much to you all on the phone or through email. I want to apologize for that. But I think most of us can understand the joy that I feel because I am completely in love with someone, and I have done nothing but hang out with her and neglect communication with my friends. I am doing my best to right this and to get back into talking and seeing you all like I should be. I have trouble balancing things in my life and I am making a conscious effort to try and correct that.
These have been the highlights of the last few months: -A Trip to Florida with Jess and her family that I recently got back from (pictures will be posted at http://public.fotki.com/mikeroth
-My cousin's awful wedding in Oklahoma
-Becoming a server at the restaurant
-Listening to a ton of the Casket Lottery
-Taking more classes at NOVA starting soon.
That's pretty much it. I'm sorry for being non-communicative. I'll be calling soon. We'll be hanging out soon.
